Potassium is one of the most important elements for plant growth and health. It is used in photosynthesis and is very important for many biochemical reactions occurring in plant tissues. It accelerates growth and is effective in root development.
Potassium deficiency causes fading of leaf colors in plants, tissue decay, usually starting from the outer edges, and death due to insufficient chlorophyll production if the deficiency is not eliminated.
Potassium should be kept in the range of 20-30 ppm in planted aquariums.
